Budget conscious after-market furnishings and dental equipment of varied colors and styles are woven together into a new chapter with a Tuscan twist in this compelling contemporary dental office.

A festive multi-color carpet, a deep sienna concrete stain, and bright Tuscan artwork all serve to weave the unlikely found elements together.

Cypress, a favored Tuscan wood, provides the inspiration for the repurposing of reclaimed Pecky Cypress. Dappled with worm holes, its rough hewn texture and orangey caramel color lends itself to the Tuscan style door headers “dalas”, ceiling beams, shutters with hammered hinge hardware, and desk counter tops. Unifying the check-in and check-out areas, a Pecky Cypress canopy grille floats overhead, and giving scale to the entry function in a room with very high ceilings.

Drawing further on the sunny qualities of Tuscany, the central Sterilization area with very high ceilings becomes a solarium. Energy saving and passively lit with its roof skylights, this sunlit space is enjoyed by patients on their way to treatment rooms.

Artwork from various regions provides the Tuscan theme for each area of the office.

This dental office has clean simple lines, warmed by vibrant Tuscan elements and imagery, and is “green” with its reuse of equipment & furnishings and conservation of energy.

“I have been very fortunate to work with Lynne Thom. She has been my advocate through and through. She collaborated with me to design my beautiful dental office and added many unique touches. I receive compliments daily! I asked Lynne to create a warm, comfortable feel and welcoming feel to all, and she delivered. She was also careful to work within our budget. Fortunately, she is a creative problem solver and genuinely seems to thrive on the challenge of maximizing value for her clients. For example, it was her initiative to construct shutters, wooden valences, and front desk top with reclaimed wood. She helped track down the best source and turned someone else’s discarded wood into the treasured focal points of our office. She also incorporated a beautiful stained concrete into our flooring design. Not only were these approaches more affordable, they also created the WOW factor I was looking for. Our office is very efficient, and functional. She understands the daily demands of my profession and was able to anticipate my needs better than I was. All of this knowledge and experience was incorporated into the design. We completed our project on schedule thanks to her help, and I get to enjoy her work daily. I am now expanding and furnishing more treatment rooms. Lynne is still generously consulting on the color and cabinetry selection. It is not an easy process to start a dental office from scratch, but working with Lynne has made it much smoother, and a lot of fun. She is clearly passionate about her profession.”
